1 Day Small Round Stake and Strand Basket Workshop
Wednesday 26th June 2024, 10am - 5pm, £95
Please note that you can turn this into a 2 day workshop by booking both this workshop and the one on 25th June together.
You can make a larger round basket with handles, or two small round baskets. The latter can be very useful to really embed the techniques, and you may end up creating a larger basket on day 2 anyway, having had familiarity with all the techniques from the previous day.
A one day workshop making small round baskets using a combination of Somerset willow and locally grown organic willow
This workshop is suitable for all, but is aimed at beginners or those who have only just started their journey with willow weaving.
Numbers are limited to just 4 participants so that you receive lots of individual attention.
Everyone will be able to complete a small round fruit or bread basket without handles in a day. If you take to weaving quickly or have a little experience already you may be able to make a something a bit bigger such as a wastepaper basket.
A simple, yummy vegetarian lunch and refreshments are included in the price of £95, but materials are charged for at the end of the workshop depending on how much you actually use - to give you some idea, the willow cost for a smallish round basket would be about £10
