Half day afternoon lanterns and fat ball feeders workshop with Debbie Hall at Blacksmith Cottage
Monday 3rd June 2024, 2pm-5pm, £45
On this half day workshop we will be using local organically grown willow to make lanterns which can be hung inside or out. They are very versatile and work equally well as fat ball feeders for the birds.
Everyone will be able to complete one in a session, and most people will be able to make two.
This workshop is suitable for all, including complete beginners. Numbers are limited to just 4 participants so that you receive lots of individual attention.
They are constructed in a very similar way to a plant support (basically a very scaled down version) and I teach them at the beginning of a plant supports class so that everyone can explore the techniques on a small scale using fine willow before progressing to a full size structure. If you're interested in making plant supports, you might consider doing this half-day course so that you have a head start, having already completed this pre-requisite and can focus on full-sized supports from the very start of the class.
The cost is £45 per person. This does not include materials which are charged at £3 per lantern / feeder. Please bring cash for this on the day.
Refreshments (teas, coffee, biscuits) will be provided but if you have favourite teas or snacks etc, then please feel free to bring them with you.
